Commonly dubbed as “Apple of China,” Xiaomi is working on an app that will make it easier for iPhone users to easily make the switch to its handsets.

The company is reportedly working on an app, which will be launched in the iOS App Store, to facilitate the easy migration of a user’s personal data from their iPhone. The app will prevent duplication of data that usually happens when switching contacts between mobile devices of two different platforms.

GizmoChina states that the Media Development Director of Xiaomi even revealed that it plans on launching a trade-in program for iPhone users. Under the program, the company will be giving users its latest flagship — the Mi Note — for free to users who will be trading in an iPhone 5s or older versions of the iPhone, even if it is not in proper working condition. Users who are willing to trade-in their iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, will be getting Xiaomi’s Mi Note Pro for free.

Xiaomi already includes a nano-SIM card slot along with a micro-SIM slot on the Mi Note and Note Pro to make it easier for iPhone owners to make the switch.

Since Xiaomi is working on an iOS app, it will need to get it approved from Apple before it can be published on the App Store. It will be interesting to see if Apple will approve an app that will allow its users to switch to a different mobile platform.
