As carriers introduce changes to plans and features, it’s almost inevitable that price changes will also follow along at some point down the road.According to a report published by PhoneScoop, Verizon, the Big Red carrier, is gearing up to make some pretty big changes when it comes to getting a new phone on the carrier’s network. For anyone upgrading a device on the network, the fee will jump up to $40. Previously, it was $30. And, for any activation fees that might be taped onto the bill after signing that new deal, another $40 will be added on for good measure.
According to a Verizon spokesperson speaking with the publication, the “ees are not unique to Verizon and help offset costs associated with upgrades, activations, and other operational costs.”
The new fees will kick off beginning February 5, so at least there’s a bit of a warning time. What do you think of the new fee pricing?
