As another week passes, more Cydia tweaks have been released, so of course we need to take a look at the best tweaks of the week. We’ll be taking a look at Bigify+, BannerBuddy, NCIfNeeded, SimpleCCMedia, Tintch, and WeatherWidget2. With the exception of Bigify+, all these tweaks are free, so you might as well give them a shot and see what you think. Let’s take a closer look.
If you were a previous purchaser of Bigify+, then then upgrade will only be $1, otherwise you’ll have to cough over $2.00, but I think it’s worth the price tag if you’re looking to change the look of your icons. With Bigify+, you’ll be able to ┬áchange the size, color, border, overlay, and even skew of your icons. It’s a nice tweak to have┬áto customize your springboard.
This is a tweak that resolves an issue I had with Reachability when it was released with iOS 8. When you get a notification banner and you’re using your phone one handed, if you invoke reachability, the banner stays at the top of the screen. Well, with BannerBuddy, this is no longer the case. After invoking reachability you will bring down the banner and be able to interact with it.
This is a simple tweak that will automatically bring you to the “Notifications” tab in your NC if you have notifications. Otherwise, it will always bring you to the “Today” view.
This tweak cleans up your control center a bit by taking out the controls from of the media player in your control center. Unfortunately you won’t be able to play/pause media from the control center anymore. If you’re willing to give that up for a bit of a cleaner look, then check it out for yourself.
This tweak will allow you to change the colors of toggles. Just go into the settings panel for Tintch and set the color for the “enabled” toggle and the “disabled” toggle.
This is a really nice and helpful widget that will give you basically anything you’d need to know about the weather right on the lock screen. You’ll need GroovyLock to enable the widget. The only downside to this tweak, in my opinion, is the look of it. It doesn’t fit in with iOS 8, it looks very Windows-ish, with it’s Times New Roman font, ugly watermark, and weird wallpapers. If they could change the look of this tweak, it’d be much more accepted.
