For some apps, starting over and relaunching with a new design, new features and plenty of improvements behind the scenes is the best step to take.SoundCloud has followed this train of thought with the launch of a brand new iPad app that focuses on bringing new features to the mobile app, with a focus on making the overall experience better for users. The new iPad app boasts a lengthy list of features, which showcases near-parity with the desktop app. The iPad app will now let users build their own Collections, view or edit profiles, share tracks and artist information, and explore deeper into select genres.
Unfortunately, for SoundCloud users on the previous version of the app that were fans of uploading their own audio to the app, that specific feature has been removed:
“Please upload any locally stored sounds before upgrading your iPad app, as audio recording has been removed from this version. For future recording, we recommend downloading one of the many apps that allow you to record and post directly to SoundCloud.“
The app also includes performance enhancements to make the whole experience better. It should also mean smoother scrolling across the board within the app.
