The largest Apple store in Asia — the Westlake Apple Store in Hangzhou, China — was thrown open to customers today.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, took to Twitter to post a picture of the opening of the store in China, which is very uncharacertistic of him.

The Cupertino company also highlights the store under the retail section of its Chinese website with a beautiful hero image (linked at the beginning of the article).

The store comes with all the benefits of a flagship store, including a Genius Bar, a dedicated floor for workshops, and more. The West Lake store draws its inspiration from Apple’s upcoming flagship store in Union Square, San Francisco with its front being dominated by glass panels.

Apple’s SVP of Retail, Angela Ahrendts, revealed earlier this month that the Cupertino company plans to open at least five stores in China before the Chinese New Year in late-February.

Earlier this week, Apple had posted a video to celebrate the opening of the retail store, which included a mural from renowned calligrapher Wang Dongling.
