According to a Credit Suisse survey, 18 percent of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners will “definitely” buy an Apple Watch. On the other hand, 18 percent of owners of the new iPhone say they will definitely not buy it.

While 11 percent iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners are on the fence about buying the watch, 27 percent are yet to make up their mind about it. This means that one out of every five iPhone 6 owner will be buying Apple’s upcoming smartwatch, which translates into the company selling 35 million units in the first year

However, Credit Suisse suggests that Apple is going to take a conservative approach and will only manufacture about 20 million units of the Watch. If true, it is likely that we will see the same imbalance between demand and supply for the Apple Watch when the new iPhones were launched.

Analysts expectations about the sales of the Apple Watch in the first year of its launch has varied greatly. While some predict a conservative figure of 10 million units, others predict that the company could sell anywhere between 35 to 50 million units of the Watch in the calendar year of 2015.

Reports indicate that Apple plans on launching the Apple Watch in March this year with retail training for the smartwatch beginning from February. Details about the companion Watch app for iOS also made its way to the Internet yesterday.
