If you surf the web on your iPhone frequently, you’ll be glad to find out about a new jailbreak tweak known as NCBrowser 8 that makes it a whole lot easier to surf the internet on the go.

The tweak adds a web browser to the Notification Center allowing you to access the web from anywhere within iOS, without even requiring you to launch the Safari app.

Upon installing NCBrowser 8, you’ll notice a third tab added to the Notification Center named ‘Browser’. This is the place where you can view the web browser and surf the internet without closing the currently open app.

It offers a few essential features which are available in the translucent navigation bar below the browser but it doesn’t allow you to take a peek at a list of all the websites accessed using the tweak aka History.

The navigation bar consists of buttons for reloading the webpage, going to the Homepage, searching via Google, copying the link or opening it in Safari and a fullscreen mode which hides the navigation bar. You can also slide the URL address bar to the left to switch between Google search and URL mode.

Once you install NCBrowser, head to its preferences pane in the stock Settings pane to explore the additional options that it provides. From there, you can enable or disable the tweak, enter up to five different Quick Links which can be access by holding down the Home button in the web browser, set your Homepage and adjust the Lock screen dim delay.

I was quite impressed with the performance of the web browser, but also disappointed to find out that it doesn’t offer a way to add multiple tabs for accessing several webpages at once.

If you surf the web frequently on your device while interacting with other apps, I’ll definitely recommend that you give this tweak a try as it makes the task a whole lot easier. NCBrowser 8 is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $2.99. An iOS 7 version of the tweak is also available if you’re running the older version.
