microsoft has announced acquisition of Nokia's mobile devices unit for $7.2 billion. Microsoft is positively digging its way to becoming the devices &  services company in order to survive.

Microsoft is neither beginning a journey that will see  split the company up so as to remove conflicts between new and old products with the enterprise and smaller-business customers.From  their point of view, getting a  business customers aligned to the cloud is a improved option. There money to be made and a cloud-services architecture fits much more neatly with the end-to-end business model they are shooting for than client-server architecture.
