Microsoft has  announced a few months before  that Windows 8.1 will be free upgrade for any users who has already using Windows 8. But  on , September 17, company officials has  shared more on how much  the Windows 8.1 will cost forits users running an older version of Windows. For those who uses  Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, Windows 8.1 will cost $119.99. 

These prices  is  either  for a downloading window 8.1 from  Windows.com or as retail-packaged DVD product sold at  any retail shop. These are the same prices  that MS charged users of older versions of Windows for the Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro upgrades.First, Microsoft is offering a full version of  software at retail the time around.

 This means that  there's no requirement for  the users to use the  previous version of Windows in order to get these prices.Microsoft offered Microsoft officials said they are  making this  kind of change due to  different feedbacks  from customers "in specific technical scenarios." Specifically, this benefits users who want to build PCs from scratch, run Windows 8.1 in virtual-machine environments and/or run Windows 8.1 on a second hard drive partition on the hardware of their choice.
