Loop Telecom Ltd is winding up its operations in 13circles in India, following the cancellation of its licenses in the Supreme Court judgment, reports said. The carrier had 2G licenses for 21 circles and had operations in 13 circles with its largest subscriber base of over 2,300 in Kolkata followed by Odisha with 965 subscriber base according to last counted figures in February this year.

With this Loop has become the third Telco in the country after STel , Etisalat DB and Videocon to shut its operations after the apex court on February 2 ruled that all the 122 spectrum licenses allotted in 2008 during the tenure of the former telecom minister A Raja be cancelled.

The operator has also started giving termination notices to its employees (approximately 150). “We have no other option.
