Thousands of mobile phone users in Kashmir have lost access to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. This report came as a surprise particularly as Government authorities in Kashmir had refused to ban fashionable websites when the recent Anti-Islam activity in such sites became a topic of debate.
Google India had recently blocked an anti-Islam video on YouTube. Instead of ban solely the anti-Islam video, it seems the whole web site has been blocked here, said Nazir Ahmad, 21, a shopkeeper.
Recently several users are approaching authorities with various complaints. GPRS service has also been blocked by many service providers from last week onwards. Even those using broadband services through secured connections in the valley are complaining.
