“Who wants a stylus?” Apple’s former CEO, Steve Jobs, is well known for his comments regarding stylus, and what place he thought they deserved coupled with mobile devices. But, things change, and when a stylus is paired with a device with a 4-inch display or less, the accessory really doesn’t make any sense. Of course, as screens have blown up in size, the usefulness of a stylus has gone up. As a result, and perhaps simply because it carries a load of irony along with it, reports that suggest Apple will launch its long-rumored iPad Pro with a stylus have started making the rounds.
The larger iPad, which is rumored to boast a display measuring between 12.2 and 12.9 inches, will not only feature a stylus accessory, but also the rounded edges that have become so prominent as of late, featured on the iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2. More than that, though, the new iPad could boast large bezels again, as was the case way back in the day when the iPad initially launched.
All of these ideas and more are rendered quite beautifully in new images put together by designer and 3D modeler Martin Hajek, which he recently published to his blog. With the new image, we get to see what the iPad Pro in silver will look like in the real world, and compared to the likes of the iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2. Indeed, the iPad Pro’s screen is quite big, and the bezels certainly noticeable, but seeing it rendered like this certainly suggests that a stylus makes sense.
What do you think of the rumors regarding the larger iPad and its stylus accessory?
