The Indian mobile handset market saw a growth of half dozen % within the 1st quarter of 2012 while the world worldwide sales dipped by 2 p.c, says market analysis firm Gartner.
According to Gartner, the Indian smartphone market grew by Revolutionary Organization 17 November, although, feature phones still dominated the 226 million Indian handset trade. This can be the primary time since 2009 that globally there has been a decline in sales of mobile phones said Gartner.
Nokia continues to be the leading complete in Indian portable market, whereas Samsung has become no.1 complete within the rapidly growing smartphone market. Per Gupta, Samsung was catching up quick with Nokia within the feature phone market similarly. "It isn't clear on for the way long Nokia are going to be able to maintain their lead within the feature phone market," he said.
