News / Android Google Play store reaches 700,000 apps, joins with Apple iTunes
Today Google has announced that it's Play store now reached more than 700,000 apps available for downloads. The announcement comes after the Apple revealed that its iTunes App store had hit 700,000 first reported on Bloomberg Business week, shows a significant surge since Google passes 600,000 Android apps on its Apps store back in June.

According to the reports, the growth registered by Google Play store has been considered as more constant .anyway as pointed out by the reports says that the dearth of tab specific applications, has hampered the growth. May be upcoming Nexus 10 and also Nexus 7 tablet series are more likely to improve the current situation.

The number of apps offered on an operating system is considered to be an important factor that drives users for its usage and acceptance or adaption firstly Apple has long led the race, but the Google is evidently quickly catching up. Microsoft's Windows Phone OS is also seeing a growing number of apps, and its app store recently crossed the 100,000 apps mark. The 100,000 apps is big figure but as its a significantly lags behind Android and i OS.
