Slow Shutter!, the popular photography app for iPhone that lets you capture long-exposure photographs you’d usually only get from an expensive DSLR, is now free for a limited time through the Apple Store app. Here’s how you can get your hands on it.

With Slow Shutter! by Lucky Clan, you can capture incredible images of moving objects using only your iPhone. The latest version of the app was designed from the ground up to bring the highest quality results, so you end up with images you’d typically only get from a dedicated camera.

Slow Shutter!’s modes and features include:

  • Auto: Perfect for waterfalls, ghost photos and other moving objects.
  • Light trail: Capture hypnotizing photos of night traffic, fireworks, carousels and other moving lights.
  • Night: Capture bright, noise-free photos in low-light conditions.
  • Real time preview.
  • Full resolution support in Auto and Night modes.
  • Adjust exposure in Light trail and Night modes.
  • Adjust freeze in Auto mode.

You won’t be able to download Slow Shutter! for free directly through the App Store app on your iOS device; you need to use the Apple Store app instead. Just follow the steps below to claim your free download.

Step 1: Download the Apple Store app.

Step 2: Open the App Store app and tap the ‘Stores’ tab at the bottom, then scroll down until you see Apple’s ‘Start Something New’ banner. Swipe to the left and tap the Slow Shutter! icon.

Step 3: Tap the ‘Download now for free’ button at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: The app will redirect you to the App Store and prefill a redeem form with your redemption code. If prompted, enter your iTunes password, then click the ‘Redeem’ button in the top corner to begin your download.

Apple says the free download expires on March 28, but notes that it is subject to availability. The company often gives away great apps like this one through the Apple Store app, so be sure to check back regularly to see what’s on offer.
