One of the new features of iOS 8 is that it displays your favorite or recently contacted people right in the App Switcher. If you’ve already disabled this feature or never use it, you should consider checking out a new jailbreak tweak known as Cobalia.

The tweak replaces the recent contacts in the App Switcher with commonly used system toggles which you can access quickly. The toggles include Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Do Not Disturb, Location Services, Hotspot and tons more. The nice thing about them is that they are integrated into the App Switcher in a way that makes them look like a native feature.

That said, once you install the tweak, it comes with a separate preferences pane in the stock Settings app where you can enable or disable the tweak as well as hide the section and the switch labels.

You’ll also find a Switches option where you can choose the toggles that you’d like to see in the App Switcher as well as organize their order. Some toggles even provide more options such as the Flashlight toggle which allows you to define what happens when you tap on it or long hold. Once you’re done with enabling the toggles, you can double tap the Home button to invoke the App Switcher and you’ll notice the toggles above the app cards.

If you’ve used FlipSwitch before, you’ll notice that the toggles look similar because the tweak makes use of FlipSwitch framework in order to achieve its goal.

There are various different places where you can access these setting toggles, but if you never use the recent contacts feature, you can use Cobalia to replace them with a set of useful FlipSwitch toggles.

Cobalia is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repository for free of charge. Let us know what you think about the tweak in the comments section below.
