Apple Pay users in the United States will now be able to use the service to pay for their purchases in supermarket chain Save Mart Supermarkets.

The California based supermarket chain is rolling out support for Apple Pay in all its 217 stores, including its various sub-brands Save Mart, S-Mart Foods, Lucky and Maxx Value Foods, located in Nevada and Northern California.

The company’s Chief Strategy and Branding Officer Nicole Piccinni Pesco said that it is adding support for Apple Pay for the “benefit and convenience” of their customers.

Ever since Apple launched Apple Pay with iOS 8.1 in October last year, the mobile payment service has grown rapidly and has already surpassed other competing mobile payment services in popularity and user base. Apple has also managed to add support for all the major banks and card issuers in the United States that has further bolstered the popularity of the service.

A testament to this is Bank of America’s Q4 2014 earnings report released today. It mentions that since Apple Pay’s introduction in October, nearly 800,000 customers have added more than 1.1 million cards to the service.

Bank of America was among the launch partners of Apple Pay and has released various ads promoting the service.
