Apple has seeded the first beta for OS X 10.10.3 to testers and developers, and while the new software focuses on some new and lingering issues, a new feature really stands out.

The new software, which is the first beta for OS X 10.10.3 and is currently available for testers and developers, is now being seeded by Apple for download. While the new software is meant to fix some issues, as previously mentioned, the real star of the show is the addition of the all-new Photos app, which is replacing iPhoto (and Aperture).

As noted in the description of the new app, Photos will not only automatically sort and organize your photos, but it will also allow users to access a suite of editing tools to enhance and perfect their photos as well. Using the new iCloud Photo Library will keep photos in the cloud, making sure that they’re safe in sound in the digital space. The new Photos app will also let users browse photos by Moments, Collections and Years:

All new for OS X, Photos automatically organizes your photo library and helps you perfect your photos with comprehensive editing tools. You can also store your photos and videos in the cloud using iCloud Photo Library, and access them on all your devices.

    Photos lets you:
    – Browse your photos by time and location in Moments, Collections, and Years views.
    – Navigate your library using convenient Photos, Shared, Albums, and Projects tabs
    – Store all of your photos and videos in iCloud Photo Library in their original format and full resolution
    – Access your photos and videos stored in iCloud Photo Library from your Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iCloud.com with any web browser
    – Perfect your photos with powerful and easy-to-use editing tools that optimize with a single click or slider, or allow precise adjustments with detailed controls
    – Create professional-quality photo books with simplified bookmaking tools, new Apple-designed themes, and new square book formats
    – Purchase prints in new square and panoramic sizes

The new software is available now for testers and developers, accessed through the Mac Update tool, or through the Apple Developer portal linked below.
