Apple has eyes on China, and plans on continuing its own growth in the region for the foreseeable future. That extends to some U.S.-based Apple Store employees, too.

According to a report published by 9to5Mac and citing note sent out to employees earlier in the month, Apple’s head of retail Angela Ahrendts wants to make sure that U.S.-based Apple Store employees know that transferring to China is not just an option, but is also apparently highly suggested.

The report notes that there are about 200 Apple Store retail associates that have already agreed to make the jump over the ocean, and that the request from the company does not have an expiration date. Ahrendts notes in the unpublished letter that the growth in China is going to continue, and the help of U.S.-based retail employees will not stop:

…has no expiration date because as the business grows, our needs will only become greater, so as your personal and professional life changes, just always keep China at the top of your mind, because we’re going to need you…

As far as details go regarding the transition for those employees, it’s not published whether or not they are getting any type of relocation assistance in the gigantic move.

Indeed, Apple has bold plans for Apple, as Ahrendts has already confirmed that a handful of new Apple Stores are going to open in the region in the near future. But, the expansion is not the only new thing happening to Apple Stores, as the original report indicates that sources have also suggested that Apple is planning on rolling out an SMS-based system for in-store notifications, which would work to let customers know of expected wait times at the Genius Bar.
